App-Based Connected Services Considerations: FCA/Stellantis

Have you had an experience where the vehicle notified the owner that it was being moved while it was in your repair facility? App-based connected services are available from many vehicle makers and may require special considerations before beginning repairs. Let’s see what FCA/Stellantis has to say.

FCA/Stellantis has offered different versions of app-based connected services on most models since 2014. FCA/Stellantis may use different terms for app-based connected services, including:

  • Brand Connect
    • AlfaConnect
    • ChryslerConnect
    • DodgeConnect
    • FiatConnect
    • JeepConnect
    • RAMConnect
  • SiriusXM Guardian
  • Uconnect Access

Model availability and other information are available at Your Connected Services Account.

When researching vehicle-specific service information on stellantisiop.com, access to the owner’s manual, including the app-based connected services radio manual.

For example, a 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has remote start information in the vehicle-specific Uconnect 5 - Radio Manual under: Connected Vehicle Services-Brand Connected Services ➤ Using Brand Connected Services ➤ Remote Vehicle Start. This area lists vehicle conditions required to activate a remote start.

App-based connected services related system descriptions, operations, and procedures are found in vehicle-specific service information under 08-Electrical and typically in one of the following:

  • 8A - Audio/Video/Entertainment/Connectivity
  • 8E - Electronic Control Module
  • 8F - Engine Systems
  • 8Q - Vehicle Theft Security
  • 8T - Navigation/Telecommunication

FCA/Stellantis does not have a specific service mode that prevents the use of remote start. When researching, you might see references to modes used for other service operations, like disabling air suspension.

Always remember to follow OEM service information and restore any modified vehicle settings and perform required calibrations or initializations before returning the vehicle to the owner.
