Are you looking for OEM emergency response guides (ERGs)? The Repairability Technical Support (RTS) team has located these guides and either houses them on the RTS website, provides links to webpages that house them, or provides articles with instructions on how to locate them.
These guides provide information about the vehicle that is useful to emergency response personnel. You may find ERGs available for many types of vehicles, but most OEMs focus on how to handle a high-voltage (HV) vehicle that has been involved in a collision.
For Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles, these guides are available in a few places and do not require a paid subscription.
One of these locations is the Ford and Lincoln First Responders Vehicle Resources webpage. This site provides a simple, model-arranged list to locate ERGs.
The ERGs are also available on the Motorcraft website. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to find an ERG on the service site:
- Go to motorcraftservice.com
- Click Free Resources (bottom left of webpage)
- Click Quick Guides
- Click Reference Guides
- Select Year from dropdown
- Select Model from dropdown
- Click Find My Vehicle
- Select vehicle Emergency Response Guide

It’s important to remember that the ERGs do not provide all the necessary information to repair HV vehicles. The OEM procedure and precautions always need to be followed to ensure the safety of the technician, as well as a complete, safe, and quality repair.
