The Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG)
Ever hear about the Database Enhancement Gateway (DEG)? If you haven’t, it’s a great resource. Let’s face it, sometimes an estimating system doesn't have everything in its database that is needed to write a complete damage report. Sometimes the process to replace a part is not clear; other times it may be simple human error or a computer glitch.
Whatever the reason, these things need to be fixed once they have been identified. So where can you go with this information? The Database Enhancement Gateway was created for just this purpose. DEG provides a link directly to the information providers to help resolve issues within an estimating system. Once on the DEG website, you can submit a new inquiry to the different information providers, access records of previous inquiries, and see when and how issues were resolved.
