Calibration Research Tips: BMW/Mini Calibration Information Table

While searching for information on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) on an OEM repair information site, you may come across unique calibration procedures or events. These events can vary by year and model, even within a particular make. As the RTS team has been researching these systems, we have been identifying these atypical circumstances. In order to help you better understand them, we are putting together a series of articles that with the repair and calibration of ADAS. Let’s take a closer look at BMW/Mini calibration requirement information.

BMW/Mini provides ADAS calibration information in the vehicle-specific service manuals. The information is typically found in the same location.

On many vehicles, BMW/Mini also includes an ADAS table in the electronic service manual titled Overview Of Additional Work For The Removal And Installation Or Replacement Of Electronic Components In The Body Area/Windscreen. This document is easily found by performing a search for the bolded title above after entering a VIN.

The document is a table that will list a sensor/camera and show relevant related information such as:

  • Removal and installation calibration requirements
  • Replacement calibration requirements
  • Special tools required for removal or replacement
  • Special notes relating to the sensor/camera

The table will look similar from model to model, and calibration events for specific sensors/cameras may be the same. However, this does not mean that the tables are universal or interchangeable. The correct vehicle-specific table should always be used.

It is important to always follow OEM procedures for repairs and calibration. Finding this information quickly and efficiently contributes to a complete, safe, and quality repair.
