Have you had an experience where the vehicle notified the owner that it was being moved while it was in your repair facility? App-based connected services are available from many vehicle makers and may require special considerations before beginning repairs. Let’s see what Nissan/INFINITI has to say.
Nissan has offered telematic services since 1998 with Compass Link. In 2011, the Nissan Leaf used an in-vehicle telematics communication unit (TCU) and connected services to monitor high-voltage batteries and provide unique electric vehicle (EV) functions.
Nissan/INFINITI uses different terms for their app-based connected services, including:
- NissanConnect, NissanConnect EV, Nissan Connect Services powered by SiriusXM
- INFINITI InTouch
- MyNissan
- MyINFINITI
- Virtual Key
- Intelligent Key
- Telematics Communication Unit (TCU)
Only select Nissan and INFINITI vehicles may be factory equipped to use app-based connected services, others may require dealer-installed equipment. To help determine which models and trim levels use the NissanConnect Features And Package Options or INFINITI Explore Available Packages webpages to help.
