Working With Boron-Alloyed Steel - Removal (Belt Sander)

How do you remove spot welds on something that is harder than a drill bit? Well you could always use a file belt sander.

File belt sanders are another alternative for removing spot welds on UHSS. No seriously, a file belt sander is a great tool for removing spot welds on boron-alloyed steel and all other ultra-high-strength steel (UHSS). This tool creates very little heat, is great to get into hard to reach areas, and it's fast and durable.

To use this tool simply move it back and forth until the ground area turns blue or you can see the outline of the spot-weld. Then simply chisel apart the panel. Give it a try and you may be pleasantly surprised.
