Aluminum Electrode Wire Quick Tip

You’ve made the investment in an aluminum welder, but you may not be using it every day. Here’s a quick tip to help make it work more efficiently.

When not in use, electrode wire should be stored to slow oxidation in a warm, dry area. Condensation may form on cold wire when it meets warmer air. One of the best ways to prevent contamination is to place it in a sealed container or plastic bag.

By leaving the welding wire in the machine, the wire can actually start to corrode, contaminating the weld. The best welding results are obtained by using clean electrode wire.
