Locating OEM-Approved ADAS Tools: Ford/Lincoln

When researching calibration procedures for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), you may notice that many of the procedures require the use of specific tools. Some tools may be everyday items like string, tape, levels, paper, etc. However, many of them are OEM-specific tools or scan tools. Often identifying and locating where to purchase these specific tools can be difficult.

The RTS team is researching how to find these tools to make it easier for technicians performing these procedures. As we research the location of these special tools, we are compiling the information in a series of OEM-specific articles. Let’s see where you can find Ford/Lincoln-approved tool information.

Diagnostic tool information and requirements can be found on the www.motorcraftservice.com website. On the login screen, click on Diagnostic Tool Support tab at the top of the page, then click Home. This takes you to a page that gives an overview of software and the hardware needed to perform diagnostic tasks on Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

On the same login page, click on the Free Resources tab at the top of the page. From the dropdown menu, select Tools & Equipment. This brings you to a Rotunda page where you can click on links to bring you to the official Rotunda website that allows you to find and order special tools and equipment. You can find tools on this website by searching by category or typing in part numbers or tool descriptions using the search bar at the top of the page.

Always follow OEM procedures when calibrating ADAS. Make sure to check procedures for the required tools to help ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
