Repairer Driven News: 2018 BMW 3 Series

BMW’s 3 Series for the 2019 model year has gone through some changes for the new generation. Many of these changes will affect the way repairs will be carried out.

The 3 Series has adopted both an aluminum hood and fenders, which sheds 33 pounds from the overall weight. For the most part, the rest of the vehicle is mostly steel construction with the exception of some suspension components. New optional laser headlights may require special attention when replacing, along with a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Some systems include an adaptive cruise system that can see and adapt to the vehicle immediately in front, along with the vehicle in front of that.
