Calibration Research Tips: Hyundai Trim Level Specific ADAS Features

While searching for information on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) on an OEM repair information site, you may come across unique calibration procedures or events. These events can vary by year and model, even within a particular make. As the RTS team has been researching these systems, we have been identifying these atypical circumstances. In order to help you better understand them, we are putting together a series of articles that help with the repair and calibration of ADAS. Let’s take a closer look at Hyundai.

While searching for specific ADAS on Hyundai’s service site, you may not find it, despite knowing that it in fact exists. If you are certain that you are looking in the right area of the manual, the solution may be easier than you think.

Some ADAS are only available on specific trim levels on certain Hyundai vehicles, and you may need to make an engine selection when searching for ADAS on a vehicle. This is because some trim levels were only equipped with a specific engine, and the ADAS features will only show up with that engine selected.

This makes it essential to know not only what ADAS features the vehicle is equipped with, but what engine as well. Specifying the correct engine can reveal the ADAS information that was hiding in plain sight.

It is important to always follow OEM procedures for repairs and calibration. Finding this information quickly and efficiently contributes to a complete, safe, and quality repair.
