OEM-Approved Connector and Pigtail Repair Resources: General Motors

When confronted with a wiring harness repair, we often struggle finding the correct connector and pigtail repair kits. Often a specific connector may be used on multiple applications. If the connector is allowed to be replaced, what resources are available to locate approved wiring connector and pigtail repair kits? Let’s see what is available from General Motors (GM).

GM has an online Wiring Pigtails & Socket catalog. To find this free resource:

  1. Go to gmparts.com
  2. Click Technical Resources (top center of webpage)
  3. Click Pigtail & Socket Catalog (left side of webpage)

To locate specific connectors, use one of the search functions (top left of webpage):

Option 1: Part Search

  1. Type part number in Enter A Part Number textbox
  2. Click Go button (next to textbox)

Option 2: Sockets

  1. Click Show All Sockets button
    • Opens a visual guide of all available connectors

Option 3: Pigtail Search

  1. Select a Number from the Cavities dropdown menu
  2. Select a Gender from the dropdown menu
  3. Click Go button (next to Gender)
    • Can search separately or combined to filter search results

The Wiring Pigtails & Sockets catalog only shows part numbers and visual picture for most connectors. Seeing colored pictures can help verify that the correct part is being ordered if a connector repair is needed. Always refer to GM vehicle-specific repair information prior to performing a connector repair.
