OEM Emergency Response Guides: Toyota/Lexus - UPDATE

Are you looking for OEM emergency response guides (ERGs)? The Repairability Technical Support (RTS) team has located these guides and either houses them on the RTS website, provides links to webpages that house them, or provides articles with instructions on how to locate them.

These guides provide information about the vehicle that is useful to emergency response personnel. You may find ERGs available for many types of vehicles, but most OEMs focus on how to handle a high-voltage (HV) vehicle that has been involved in a collision.

For Toyota/Lexus vehicles, these guides can be accessed for free and do not require a subscription.

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to find an ERG on the service site:

  1. Go to techinfo.toyota.com
  2. Click Emergency Response tab (left side of webpage)
  3. Click Click Here link
  4. A new window opens
  5. Select a Brand (top of webpage)
  6. Enter Model or Year to filter results (left side of webpage)
  7. Select correct Emergency Response Guide

Guides can also be viewed if you have a subscription and are logged in to the Toyota service site. This is convenient as it is not necessary to log out just to view the guide. To view the guides when logged in:

  1. Click TIS tab (top of webpage)
  2. Click Reference Information tab (top of webpage)
  3. Select Division (make), Model, and Year from dropdowns
  4. Select Technician from Document Group dropdown
  5. Click Search
  6. Select correct Emergency Response Guide

It's important to note that ERGs do not provide all necessary information to repair HV vehicles. OEM precautions and procedures always need to be used in order to ensure the safety of technicians, as well as a complete, safe, and quality repair.
