Honda/Acura Has Video Procedures

Looking for more information about a specific repair procedure? Some OEMs are now providing videos within the repair procedures on their service site. Vehicle makers may also have additional websites that contain repair videos. As we research OEM websites and find these helpful videos, we will write articles to let you know. Let’s take a closer look at Honda/Acura.

If you are looking for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) information, Honda has many great resources for owners and technicians who want to learn more about the function of certain ADAS. Per our contact at Honda, "There are no video items in the service information for calibration procedures." However, as our contact went on to state, "We do have training e-learning modules, plus there are some very good videos on the hondatechtutor.com website, as well as the owners website, owners.honda.com, and automobiles.honda.com." In addition, owners.acura.com provides ADAS videos for Acura models.

The hondatechtutor site, for example, offers great information on ADAS features of Honda models only, allowing owners and technicians to learn how these systems function on the vehicle. Simply go to the hondatechtutor.com website and select the year and model of the vehicle. Click on the category of videos you would like to view. After clicking on the category, select a video link.

Honda/Acura typically do not have videos within their procedures on the paid subscription site. There is, however, a number of helpful non-ADAS related videos you can view simply by typing the word "Video" into the keyword search box. After clicking search, a list of video links will appear on the right side of the page. Those links take you to informational videos on topics such as:

  • Scan tool information
  • Troubleshooting tips and tricks
  • Vehicle electrical features

These are just a few examples, as there are a wide variety of videos on the website that may vary depending on the vehicle selected.

Although videos can be extremely helpful, they are not intended to replace the written procedures. They are there to serve as a guide. Being diligent with reading and following OEM procedures is vital to ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
