Acura Released The 2022 MDX Body Repair News Bulletin: UPDATE

Acura released a Repair News bulletin for the 2022 Acura MDX. This document provides relevant repair information at a glance for this redesigned vehicle.

The 2022 MDX Model Series: New Body Repair Information document gives an overview on some of the features on this redesigned 2021 model that may cause changes on how the vehicle is repaired.

It highlights the use of 1,500 MPa steel for the inner and outer stiffener ring (D-ring), 1,180 MPa steel in both the upper and lower front rails, and 980 MPa for the rear rails.

Acura states: "Impact-resistant structural adhesive is used extensively throughout this vehicle." Information on the recommended adhesive and areas that require it are noted.

Acura includes details on:

  • Proper front fender installation
  • How to gain access to the front upper control arm (front upper arm) retaining nut
  • Door sash trim panel scratch removal

Acura updated this document with added information about Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), paint precautions, and approved calibration equipment for the 2025 MDX Type-S equipped with the Advance Package.

Acura states: "After the bumper is painted, you must perform the procedure, Static Inspection For Radar Sensor Visibility - Adjustment to ensure that the repair was done correctly. Make sure to do the corner radar aiming procedure after the inspection."
