Back-To-Basics: Preventing Wind Noise And Water Leaks

Sometimes going back-to-basics can make the difference between a quality repair and a failed repair. When it comes to preventing wind noise and water leaks during the repair process, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Wind noise and water leaks can have negative, long-term effects on a vehicle and passengers. Some of these effects can be fumes entering the passenger compartment, dirt and dust build up, mildew and mold growth, and corrosion. To prevent these issues it’s important to follow OEM repair procedures. It is also important to pay attention when applying the correct seam sealers or adhesives in the correct location, which depending on the repair procedure could include locations where none had previously existed.

It is important to keep these in mind during the repair process to prevent possible wind noise and water leaks, as well as repair already existing wind noise and water leaks. By doing this it can increase longevity of the vehicle as well as increase occupant safety long-term.
