One of the top technical inquiries received at Ask I-CAR, “Is there a sectioning or partial replacement procedure available?” To help answer this question, RTS has an OEM Partial Part Replacement Search that tells you if these procedures are available on a specific vehicle. Let’s take a closer look at the 2017 Subaru Outback.

I-CAR does not have permission to show exact locations for sectioning or the procedure itself. However, Subaru has a repair information website with collision repair information.
The Outback has sectioning procedures for the inner and outer front lower rails, showing the difference between the left and right side. There is a partial replacement at factory seams for the front lower rail. The front upper rail has multiple partial replacement at factory seam locations, and a partial replacement at factory seam procedures for the rear rail.
There are multiple sectioning locations for the outer uniside, including the A-pillar, B-pillar, and quarter panel. The 2017 Outback has multiple locations for partial replacement at factory seams for the trunk floor.
