OEM-Approved Connector And Pigtail Repair Resources: Jaguar Land Rover

When confronted with a wiring harness repair, we often struggle to find the correct connector and pigtail repair kits. Often, a specific connector may be used on multiple applications. If the connector is allowed to be replaced, what resources are available to locate approved wiring connectors and pigtail repair kits? Let’s see what Jaguar Land Rover has to offer.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) provides a robust document on wiring repair that also includes where to find materials needed from the JLR Wiring Harness Repair Kit, found at: jlrequipment.service-solutions.com.

This Wiring Harness document is in the vehicle-specific Workshop Manual under 4: Electrical ➤ 418: Electrical Distributions ➤ 418-02 Wiring Harnesses ➤ Wiring Harness (Description And Operation).

Per the Wiring Harness document:

• "Use of the JLR approved diagnostic equipment will greatly assist in the quick identification of electrical connectors and damaged pin terminal(s)."
• "Reference can also be made to the ERL and Interactive Electrical Wiring Diagram (iEWD) available through TOPIx, to identify wiring harness(s) and electrical connector(s)."

To navigate to the Interactive Electrical Wiring Diagram (iEWD):

1. Go to topix.jaguar.jlrext.com or topix.landrover.jlrext.com
2. Click English, if prompted
3. Click United States, if prompted
4. Click Authorised Repairer Login or Independent Operators Login depending on purchased subscription
5. Enter username and password
6. Click Login
7. Click Continue
8. Enter vehicle
1. option 1: Enter VIN (top left corner of webpage)
2. option 2: Enter Model and Year under Search Via Model Selection
9. Click Find
10. Click Browse All under Option Selection
11. Click Documents (left of webpage)
12. Click Electrical Information (left of webpage)
13. Click text for iEWD document

The Introduction document explains the iEWD and how to navigate and search the diagrams.

Clicking on a connector in a wiring diagram opens a window with information about the required materials from the JLR Wiring Harness Repair Kit.
