Where Do I Find Other Types Of Information In BMW/Mini?

Navigating OEM websites can be challenging when searching for collision repair procedures, especially as no two OEM websites are alike. What happens when you need to find other types of repair information, such as, "What needs to be inspected after a supplemental restraints system (SRS) deployment", or "Does the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) require a scan tool or specialty tool?" Let's take a closer look at the BMW/Mini website.

Go to the BMW website bmwtechinfo.com. If you haven’t already, you will need to purchase a subscription to view the service site.

  1. Log in
  2. Click on AOS (top of webpage)
  3. From the drop-down, click on Repair Manuals & Diagrams (AIR)
  4. Click Start (center of webpage)
  5. A new window or tab opens
  6. Enter the last 7 digits of the VIN and click the magnifying glass (right-hand side of search box)
  7. Click Repair Instructions (gray box, top of webpage)
  8. Click Unified Parts Group (left-hand side bar)

Once Unified Parts Group is expanded all the different areas of repair information are visible.

Area 61-General Vehicle Electrical System has electrical information on items such as power distribution, wiring harness, and high-voltage battery systems.

Area 72-Parts and Accessories Body has information on restraints systems including SRS wiring repair information and seat belt and air bag removal and installation.

BMW/Mini also provides a search area (top of webpage). Here you can simply type in a keyword, such as tire pressure or SRS. The search results provide areas in which the keyword is referenced.
