Sectioning and Partial Part Replacement: 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban

To help answer this question, RTS has an OEM Partial Part Replacement Search available. Here you will find information on if these procedures are available on a specific vehicle. Let's take a closer look at the 2017 Tahoe/Suburban.
The full OEM Partial Part Replacement Search page for the Chevrolet 2017 Tahoe, and the 2017 Suburban can be viewed on the I-CAR website. This will give you a good understanding on general areas for sectioning or partial replacement. I-CAR does not have permission to show exact locations for sectioning or the procedure itself.
The both vehicles have a single procedure for sectioning the front lower rail. This procedure requires replacement of both the left and right frame rails, along with the crossmember between them. The sectioning joint is an open butt joint. Chevrolet does not have a procedure for sectioning or partial part replacement for the rear rails, full part replacement is necessary.
There are multiple sectioning procedures for the outer uniside, including the outer A-pillar, B-pillar, and quarter panel. The sectioning joint for the outer uniside is a lap joint that uses a 25 mm overlap.
