I-CAR Spot Welder Setup And Operation Courses

Sometimes understanding welding machine settings and functions can be difficult, especially if it is a new machine. The spot welder setup and operation courses cover the following topics:

  • An overview of the machine
  • How to set up the welder
  • Operating the welder
  • How to troubleshoot the welder

Squeeze-type resistance spot welding (STRSW) reduces the concern when welding on advanced high-strength steels that are sensitive to heat. Some spot welders automatically adjust to the appropriate clamp force and amount of energy needed to weld the given material. The courses go in depth about the various modes of each welder, especially the auto setting which can detect the type and thickness of the metal being welded.

Another thing you will learn is how to set up the welder. There is also detailed information about the many features the welder is capable of. You may also notice that calibration is often required when using a spot welder to ensure an accurate and secure weld. The courses and the machines will instruct you how often and when the calibrations are required.

Each spot welder comes with attachments that are unique to that machine. The courses explain what attachments there are and how they are used. There may even be weld on pulling attachments included, as well.

These are only a few examples of what you can learn in the spot welder setup and operation courses.

Understanding different welders and learning about the advanced settings and features can be difficult. The spot welder setup and operation courses can take you from pulling the trigger and hoping the settings are correct, to having the settings fine-tuned to the area you’re welding. Knowing how your welder works, and how to set it up for a specific repair, helps ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
