Volkswagen Self Study Guides

When looking for information on an OEM service site, one often looks at the service manual or body repair manual. In many cases this is sufficient when performing repairs. However, with vehicles becoming more complex and packed with technology, this may no longer be enough.

Volkswagen has guides to assist the repairer when working on a vehicle. These self-study guides will further educate a technician with vehicle-specific information or general information on Volkswagen vehicles.

To access these guides, it is not necessary to enter a vehicle model or year. To locate the guides:

  1. Log into the Volkswagen pay service site
  2. Click on Service Information (top of webpage)
  3. Click on Manual Search (middle of webpage)
  4. For Category 1 choose Training
  5. For Category 2 choose Self Study Programs
  6. Click Search

You can then choose a guide by opening it or saving the PDF file to your computer. Some examples of available guides are:

  • Airbag And Safety Systems Reference Guide
  • Adaptive Cruise Control And Lane Change Assist Design And Function
  • Immobilizer Systems
  • VW Drivers Assistance Version 2

Having additional OEM and vehicle-specific information is important to help ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
