Locating ADAS Information: Genesis

As a collision repair technician, there is one part of a service manual that houses all of the information you would ever need…right? This is not the case with modern vehicles. You may be required to look in numerous manuals to find the information required to safely repair the vehicle.

The Repairability Technical Support (RTS) Portal has videos posted to show you how to navigate specific OEM body repair manuals (BRMs), but this sometimes just gets you in the door. If you are looking for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) information in the BRM, you may not find any information at all. ADAS information is not normally located in the body repair manual. You may have to go into the service manual to find ADAS or a separate manual altogether. Luckily, the RTS team has already navigated most of the OEM repair manuals and we’ve found the ADAS information. Let’s see where to find ADAS information from Genesis.

To access the ADAS information:

  1. Go to www.genesistechinfo.com (A subscription is required)
  2. Log into your account
  3. Select Shop from the Quick Menu (left side of the webpage)
  4. Select the Model and Year
  5. Open the manual by clicking the + symbol next to the correct engine size

Here are the main shop manual categories that will provide ADAS information:

  • Engine Electrical System - adaptive cruise control
  • Body Electrical System - adaptive lighting systems, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, rear view, park assist, and 360 camera
  • Brake System - collision warning, collision braking
  • Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) - blind spot, rear cross traffic, park assist, 360 camera, rear view, front view, cruise control, collision warning, collision braking, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist. The ADAS category also provides a chart displaying all vehicle systems and what sensors or cameras the systems use. This category may not be available for all shop manuals. In this case, the other categories listed above should be used.
