I-CAR Toyota Collision Repair Overview Course

I-CAR has developed a course around the collision repair of Toyota vehicles.

The Toyota Collision Repair Overview course covers many different collision repair aspects, as well as general information about Toyota models.

Some of the topics discussed in the course are:

  • OEM information sources
  • Collision repair options
  • Corrosion protection
  • Electrical information

The course gives a list of all the current Toyota models including SUVs, passenger, body-over-frame, and hybrid and electric vehicles. Toyota’s terminology of body panels is also given, along with construction materials used in various parts of the body.

  • Symbols in the body repair manual

The course goes into detail about factory attachment methods, as well as attachment methods used in the body repair manual. Here are some examples of attachment methods covered:

  • Spot welding
  • Replacing laser welds with spot welds
  • Adhesive bonding
  • Weld bonding
  • GMA welding
  • MIG brazing

Information is also given about sectioning, use of heat, and components that cannot be repaired.
