2016 Acura ILX

The Acura ILX gets a minor model change for 2016.

Changes to the Acura ILX include the introduction of 1,500 MPa steel for the reinforcements on the A-pillars (both upper and lower) and the roof rails. These parts can only be replaced at the factory seams with spot welds, and MIG brazing is required where spot welding arms do not reach.

The hood is made of aluminum. The front and rear bumper reinforcements are also made of aluminum on this vehicle.

An option on the ILX is called AcuraWatch, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, and collision mitigation braking that’s capable of recognizing pedestrians.
