Locating OEM-Approved ADAS Tools: Mazda

When researching calibration procedures for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), you may notice that many of the procedures require the use of specific tools. Some tools may be everyday items like string, tape, levels, paper, etc. However, many of them are OEM-specific tools or scan tools. Often identifying and locating where to purchase these specific tools can be difficult.
The RTS team is researching how to find these tools to make it easier for technicians performing these procedures. As we research the location of these special tools, we are compiling the information in a series of OEM-specific articles. Let’s see where you can find Mazda-approved tool information.
Information for Mazda VCM II (diagnostic tool), IDS Software, and MDARS Software can be found at www.mazdaserviceinfo.com. Once you’re on the website, select any of the categories across the top of the webpage to learn more about Mazda scan tools and software. Explanations of year ranges and how these tools can be used is found within these tabs.
Additional tools listed within calibration procedures can be ordered by contacting tool and equipment suppliers via the phone. On the left side of the webpage is a link for Special Tools & Equipment. Mazda provides different phone numbers, depending on what tools you need.
Always follow OEM procedures when calibrating ADAS. Make sure to check procedures for the required tools to help ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
