OEM Linking Pin: Honda/Acura Hood Striker Repairability
As part of the I-CAR Repairability Technical Support (RTS) OEM linking pin activity, we are helping to connect the collision repair industry to the vehicle makers. Recently, we had a technical inquiry that asked about the repairability of a hood striker. We reached out to Honda/Acura for clarification.
Per our contact at Honda: "Although not documented in service information, Honda would not support the repair of any hood striker on steel or aluminum hoods."
Our contact went on to further state, "If a shop made a business decision to repair this part, the shop would need to take responsibility for any repairs."
