Why do I need a subscription to an OEM website if we have full subscription access to the I-CAR Repairability Technical Support (RTS) portal? This is a question received on a regular basis through Ask I-CAR. Let’s take a look at why and how to purchase an OEM subscription.

With your RTS subscription, you gain access to a research department in your company for the hard to find information and on the information that needs clarification. While we can't send out vehicle maker repair procedures, (due to copyright laws) we can let you know if the information exists before you spend hours and money only to find out that the information does not exist. Kia has several subscription options available. To purchase a subscription:

  1. Go to www.kiatechinfo.com
  2. A message will popup regarding purchasing a subscription, click Close
  3. You will need to register for an account, if you do not already have one
  4. To register, click on New Account beneath the Login Name and Password (left-hand side, towards the bottom of webpage)
  5. Read through the Privacy Policy
  6. Click Agree
  7. Complete the Create New Account page
  8. Click Create (bottom center of webpage), this will take you back to the home page
  9. The Subscription information window will pop up again, click Close
  10. Enter in your user id/email and password
  11. Log In to your account
  12. Select which subscription you want, click Submit
  13. Complete your billing information
  14. Click Continue
  15. Enter in your credit card information
  16. Click Process Order Now
