Sectioning and Partial Part Replacement: 2019 BMW 7 Series iPerformance

One of the top technical inquiries received at Ask I-CAR is “Is there a sectioning or partial replacement procedure available?” To help answer this question, RTS has an OEM Partial Part Replacement Search available. Here you will find information on if these procedures are available on a specific vehicle. Lets take a closer look at the 2019 BMW 7 Series iPerformance.

The full OEM Partial Part Replacement Search page for the 2019 BMW 7 Series iPerformace can be viewed on the I-CAR website. This will give you a good understanding on general areas for sectioning or partial replacement. I-CAR does not have permission to show exact locations for sectioning or the procedure itself. However, BMW has a paid subscription website with collision repair information.

There are no OEM procedures available for the front lower rail. The front upper rail can be sectioned and partially replaced at factory seams. Rear rails can also be partially replaced at factory seams. Sectioning procedures are available for the outer uniside and uniside reinforcement, but not the inner uniside. Both sectioning and partial part replacement is available for the trunk floor. There is a single location in which the rear body panel can be sectioned according to the body repair manual.
