Sectioning and Partial Part Replacement: 2017 Toyota RAV4 HV

Let's take a closer look at the 2017 Toyota RAV4 HV.
The full OEM Partial Part Replacement Search page for the 2017 Toyota RAV4 HV can be viewed on the I-CAR website. This will give you a good understanding on general areas for sectioning or partial replacement. I-CAR does not have permission to show exact locations for sectioning or the procedure itself. However, Toyota has a paid subscription website with collision repair information.
The front upper rail has no OEM procedures available. The front lower rail can be sectioned and partially replaced at factory seams using plug welds and fillet welds. Partial part replacement is available for the rear rail, but there are no OEM procedures for sectioning. The rear rail replacement procedure calls for plug welding.
There are multiple locations in which the outer uniside can be sectioned and replaced using plug welding and open butt joints on the sectioning seam. Procedures are available for sectioning the uniside reinforcement and the inner uniside. The trunk floor can be partially replaced at factory seams, but it has no OEM procedure for sectioning. The Rear body panel can be sectioned in multiple locations, and replaced using plug welding and open butt joints.
