2017 SkillsUSA National Competition

The 53RD annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference took place June 19-23, 2017 in Louisville, KY. Every year I-CAR sends volunteers to judge the collision repair technology competition. Let’s take a look at this year’s results.

For his second year in a row Alan Zimmerman of Ohio has placed first in the high school collision repair technology competition. The rest of the results for collision repair technology are as follows:

  • First – Alan Zimmerman - High School
  • Second – David Fors – High School
  • Third – Tanner Fienen – High School
  • First – Joel Hartstack – College
  • Second – Luis Renteria – College
  • Third – David Garcia – College

The winners of the automotive refinishing technology competition are:

  • First – Dylan Wertz – High School
  • Second – Maren Williams – High School
  • Third – Taylor Hill – High School
  • First – Dylan Ahrndt – College
  • Second – Summer Harrell – College
  • Third – Bo Jensen - College

The winners of this competition will be headed to Worldskills in Abu Dhabi in October.
