Updated: RTS Available Resources

Since its launch in July 2014, the I-CAR Repairability Technical Support (RTS) portal continues to be an ever-evolving source of features designed to aid all of those involved in the Collision Repair Industry. Here’s an updated breakdown of the features on the portal.

Quick Search By Vehicle
Developed in response to industry feedback, the Quick Search By Vehicle function is here to support your collision repair needs. With this search you can now select the year, make, and model and bring up results for Ask I-CAR, OEM Partial Part Replacement, OEM Restraints System Part Replacement, and OEM Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Disable Search.

OEM Information
Here you’ll find OEM technical articles and bulletins, position statements, and repair instructions. You’ll also find easy-to-use step-by-step videos on how to effectively access collision repair information, directly from the vehicle makers.

Collision Repair News
Your job requires that you keep on top of the latest in vehicle, tool and equipment technology – I-CAR is committed to helping you do so in one convenient place. We are regularly publishing new articles with the latest and greatest collision repair information.

OEM Partial Part Replacement Search
Many vehicle makers offer partial part replacement procedures for their vehicles. These procedures may involve sectioning or partial replacement at factory seams. This search tool helps save time by identifying which vehicles have partial part replacement procedures available.

OEM Calibration Requirement Search
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) often require post-repair calibrations/aiming. This search tool will allow you to identify which system(s) a particular make/model might be equipped with. You’ll also be able to identify which parts and systems will set DTCs, illuminate MILs, require scan tools or other special equipment, and when calibrations are required. (Note: Access to OEM information is mandatory to perform post-repair calibration. A proper scan tool, special tools, and/or a test drive following OEM established parameters may also be required.)*

OEM Restraints System Part Replacement Search
Following an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner deployment, vehicle makers offer mandatory replacement and inspection criteria. The search tool below will help you save time by identifying which parts require replacement and which require inspection.

OEM Hybrid And Electric Vehicle Disable Search
Following OEM repair procedures is critical to repairing hybrid vehicles safely and efficiently. Properly disabling a hybrid vehicle is also critical for personal safety. The search tool below will help you identify where parts of the hybrid system are located, how to disable the hybrid system before repairs begin, and best practices to help ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.

Ask I-CAR
I-CAR’s technical support team receives calls and emails from professionals like you looking for specific collision repair information. To help streamline access, we’re sharing the most common inquiries in a searchable database. If you can't find your answer you can submit a new question.
