Ford Lane Keep Assist Overview

On the new Ford F-150, lane keep assist is an available option. With any of the advanced vehicle safety systems, one of the most important things to know is how to identify the system is on the vehicle at the repair facility. Once identified, information is needed on when calibration is required and what tools and equipment are needed to perform the calibration. Let's take a look at the lane keep assist system on the 2015 Ford F-150.

We'll start with identification. Look through the windshield at the rearview mirror. Do you see the camera that would be used for the lane keep assist system? Another indicator can be seen on the instrument cluster that displays the lane keep assist (See Video).

This particular lane keep assist system requires calibration if there is a change in tire size, suspension repair/alignment, front airbag deployment, or if the interior rearview mirror is replaced. In order to perform the calibration, all parts need to be operational; a scan tool and road testing are required.
