General Motors Position Statement: Trailer Hitch Repair And Replacement

General Motors (GM) has a position statement pertaining to trailer hitch repair.

The GM Trailer Hitch Repair And Use Of Non-GM Hitches position statement states: "GM does not approve and strictly prohibits hitch repair as a collision repair procedure."

The document also details why hitch repair is prohibited and provides their recommendation for adding a hitch to a GM vehicle that was not equipped with one from the factory.
