GM Repair Insights: Fall 2024

The fall edition of General Motors (GM) Repair Insights magazine is now available.

The Fall 2024 edition of GM Repair Insights magazine features the all-electric 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ. This model may be equipped with a range of features, including a rear command-center screen, massaging seats, a power-folding third row, and up to 40 speakers. These electronics may impact repair considerations.

GM has a refresh for the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade, which will share many interior features with the Escalade IQ.

GM announced a front lower rail repair strategy across its electric vehicle (EV) truck lineup. This strategy involves using only one replacement part for the platform, regardless of the brand. There will still be separate left and right replacement parts for sectioning the front lower rails. GM states: "The repair procedure extends across all applications, varying only by the number of studs that are removed or left on the frame."

Lastly, GM offers important information regarding the blind spot sensors behind the rear bumper. Customer feedback indicated that these sensors were not functioning correctly due to incorrect installation during repairs.

According to GM bulletin #PIT6087: "There have been cases where these modules were installed upside down, backwards, flipped over, or swapped left to right. Typically, these installation issues occur after some type of previous repair work has been done to the vehicle."
