Repairer Driven News: OEM Specifications For Modern Batteries

Repairer Driven News (RDN) released an article highlighting 12-volt and 48-volt mild hybrid battery trends in current and upcoming vehicles.

The article discusses current and upcoming mild hybrid system battery trends, detailing how these batteries need to be handled, protected, and diagnosed. Several examples of issues one might run into while working on these vehicles are provided. The article also lists some of the special tools required to repair these vehicles properly.

While these 48-volt mild hybrid batteries aren’t new to the industry, they are becoming more commonly used by more vehicle makers. Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW being the primary examples in the article.
