Nissan/INFINITI Position Statement: Pre- and Post-Repair System Scanning - UPDATE

Nissan/INFINITI updated their position statement on pre- and post-repair scanning.

The updated Nissan Pre- and Post-Repair Scanning, Calibrations position statement and the INFINITI Revised Pre- and Post-Repair Scanning, Calibration position statement explains which vehicles require scanning, why scans are performed, and approved scan tools.

Per the Nissan Pre- And Post-Repair Scanning, Calibrations position statement:

  • "To help ensure that all advanced technology systems, whether for safety or infotainment, are functioning as designed, all 2008 and newer Nissan vehicles require a pre- and post-repair diagnostic scan."
  • "A pre-repair scan is recommended to identify any related or unrelated issues prior to repairs being performed."
  • "A post repair scan is also recommended for any 2007 and older vehicles where an OBD2 port is present."
  • "Nissan requires the use of the CONSULT diagnostic scan tool with the most up-to-date software installed."

Nissan/INFINTI also includes information on approved remote diagnostic devices.
