GM Part Replacement Without A Procedure

We are often asked, “What do I do if there isn’t a procedure to replace a service part?” Let’s see what GM says.

There are two documents found in some GM vehicle body repair manuals: Resistance Spot Welded Full Panel Replacement and MIG Welded Full Panel Replacement. These documents state:

"Use this procedure for all panels that are replaced at the factory seams, unless a specific procedure exists in the Collision Repair section of this vehicle's service information."

Panel access determines which procedure can be used. In some cases, limited panel access may require both procedures.

Always be sure to reference the vehicle-specific body repair manuals before performing any repairs.
