Audi Build Guide And Model Years

Did you know that Audi provides a build guide for their vehicles, 1999-present? This guide is an invaluable resource in aiding you make sure you find the correct body repair manual.

For example, if you were to search for a 2017 A5, the search results would give you the following options:

  • A5/S5/RS5 [8T3] (2008-2017)
  • A5/S5 [8F7] (2010-2017)

If you are looking for a 2011, it would first appear that you could choose any of the above choices. After referring to the build guide, you would see that a 2011 can only use the 8T manual.

To locate the guide, you will need to log into their subscription-based website.

  1. Click on Service Information (tabs across the top of page).
  2. This will take you to the Search page.
  3. Look for "For a list of all Audi vehicles, refer to the ➤ build guide" (middle of the page)
  4. Click on the blue build guide hyperlink, this will download the build guide PDF.
  5. Scroll through the document until you find the correct year and model. In our example, the search results would be:
    • 8T3 - A5/S5 CoupeBX6
    • 8F7 - A5/S5 Cabriolet
