Repairer Driven News: Recycling Bumper Fascias

Repairer Driven News (RDN) recently released an article on how the plastics industry has an interest in the discarded bumper fascias from body shops. The idea isn’t to refurbish the damaged fascias, but rather to use the thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) from the bumpers.

The recycling of TPO has an economic benefit to the plastics industry, and also help save body shops money by not having to pay the cost of dumping it in a landfill. Another added bonus for the plastic recyclers is that many bumper fascias have already had many of the contaminants, such as metal clips, removed by the auto body shops.
