OEM Linking Pin: Refinishing Park Assist Sensors - FCA/Stellantis

As part of the I-CAR Repairability Technical Support (RTS) OEM linking pin activity, we are helping to connect the collision repair industry to the vehicle makers. Recently we had a technical inquiry that asked if FCA/Stellantis allows park assist sensors to be refinished.

Typically, within FCA/Stellantis repair manuals you find: "The park assist system components cannot be adjusted or repaired. If any of the park assist system components are damaged or ineffective, that component must be replaced."

This naturally raised the question, does this apply to refinishing the sensor?

Per our contact at FCA/Stellantis: "Painted park assist sensors can have one additional paint system applied to them (primer, sealer, basecoat, and clear coat) to accommodate replacement fascia refinish color matching."
