I-CAR Introduction To Electric Vehicle (EV) Service Considerations Course

I-CAR is currently developing numerous electric vehicle (EV) courses. These courses detail different aspects of high-voltage (HV) vehicles and provide practical information on how to safely move, store, inspect, and repair EVs.

The Introduction To Electric Vehicle (EV) Service Considerations course provides information on EV technician training requirements, which will include HV technician training and certification, electric vehicle HV cooling systems, and dedicated repair and service areas for HV vehicles.

In addition, the course provides information and insights into the unique challenges, tools, equipment, and procedures associated with the following:

  • HV system power down
  • HV battery removal and installation
  • HV battery storage
  • Electric drive assembly removal and installation
  • Charging port removal and installation
  • HV battery testing
