Repairer Driven News: Jaguar Land Rover Structural Composite Study

Repairer Driven News (RDN) released an article on the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) four-year research project that focuses on electric vehicles (EVs) and using composites to make lighter vehicles.

The article highlights how this research will allow JLR to replace steel and even lightweight aluminum with even lighter composites. Weight reduction is not the only benefit of composites, however. An increase in stiffness and crashworthiness is also expected.

As JLR is committed to producing more EVs, this increase in structural rigidity is also important as EVs tend to produce more torque than internal combustion engine vehicles.
