Locating OEM-Approved ADAS Tools: Hyundai

When researching calibration procedures for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), you may notice that many of the procedures require the use of specific tools. Some tools may be everyday items like string, tape, levels, paper, etc. However, many of them are OEM-specific tools or scan tools. Often identifying and locating where to purchase these specific tools can be difficult.

The RTS team is researching how to find these tools to make it easier for technicians performing these procedures. As we research the location of these special tools, we are compiling the information in a series of OEM-specific articles. Let’s see where you can find Hyundai-approved tool information.

Information for Hyundai J2534 Diagnostics can be found at www.hyundaitechinfo.com. Once you are on the website:

  1. Click on J2534 Diagnostics & Programming (to the right of the log in)
  2. Click on J2534 Diagnostic System, or
  3. Click on J2534 Programming System

A PDF opens with information about the J2534 Diagnostic Tool Software. Within the document, Hyundai provides the computer requirements for the diagnostic software, as well as a several different vehicle communication interfaces that will be needed.

To find other tools needed for ADAS calibration:

  1. Click on Special Tools and Equipment (to the right of the log in)
  2. A new page will open

You can search the online tool catalog by using the categories on the left side of the page, or by using the search bar at the top of the page.

Always follow OEM procedures when calibrating ADAS. Make sure to check procedures for the required tools to help ensure a complete, safe, and quality repair.
