Repairer Driven News (RDN) released an article on the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee which outlines the variety of materials used in the construction of the vehicle which not only reduce weight but allow for easier stamping of complex parts.

Third generation ultra-high-strength steel (UHSS) is used for more than 60% of the unibody for energy absorption and aluminum is used in many different locations for weight reduction. There is even a bit of magnesium used in the vehicle.

The exterior of the vehicle has collision repair relevant items such as the front fascia which hides the long-range radar and active grille shutters.
