What does I-CAR say about using recycled airbags?

Per I-CAR curriculum: "While some vehicle makers acknowledge the use of recycled parts, no vehicle maker recommends the use of recycled airbag modules. Insurance companies in the United States will not include a recycled airbag on their estimates.

Many industry associations discourage the use of recycled airbag modules and recommend the use of OEM parts. This also applies to seat belts and other supplemental restraint system (SRS) parts."
