Sectioning and Partial Part Replacement: 2017 Jeep Cherokee

Here you will find information on if these procedures are available on a specific vehicle. Let’s take a closer look at the 2017 Jeep Cherokee.
The full OEM Partial Part Replacement Search page for the 2017 Jeep Cherokee can be viewed on the I-CAR website. This will give you a good understanding on general areas for sectioning or partial replacement. I-CAR does not have permission to show exact locations for sectioning or the procedure itself. However, Jeep has paid subscription website with collision repair information and a free subscription website for Body Repair Manuals (BRM).
Both the front upper and lower rail have no procedures for a partial part replacement at factory seams, but the front lower rail does have multiple places for sectioning. The joint used for attachment is a butt joint with backing.
The outer uniside has multiple sectioning locations available. It can be sectioned using a butt joint with backing, either through welding or structural adhesive. The uniside reinforcements must only be replaced at factory seams. There are also multiple sectioning locations for the inner uniside.
At the rear of the vehicle, Jeep has a single sectioning location for the rear rail. The trunk has one location for a partial part replacement at a factory seam, and there are no OEM procedures available for the rear body panel.
