Sectioning And Partial Part Replacement: 2020 Kia Telluride

One of the top technical inquiries received at Ask I-CAR is, “Is there a sectioning or partial replacement procedure available?” To help answer this question, RTS has an OEM Partial Part Replacemet Search available. Here you will find information on if these procedures are available on a specific vehicle. Let’s take a closer look at the 2020 Kia Telluride.

The full OEM Partial Part Replacement Search page for the 2020 Kia Telluride can be viewed on the I-CAR website. This will give you a good understanding on general areas for sectioning or partial replacement. I-CAR does not have permission to show exact locations for sectioning or the procedure itself. However, Kia has a paid subscription website with collision repair information.

There are OEM procedures available for replacing part of the front upper rails and the rear rails at factory seams. Installation of these rails specifies the use of spot welds and plug welds. Sectioning procedures, however, are not available for these components. There is only full part replacement available for the front lower rails, according to the body repair manual.

Multiple sectioning locations are available for the outer uniside, using spot welding, plug welding, and open butt welding for installation. There is a single OEM procedure available to section a reinforcement in order to remove the side panel assembly. Partial part replacement at factory seams is available for the trunk floor. There are no OEM sectioning procedures available for the inner uniside or the rear body panel. However, a full-part replacement procedure is available for the rear body panel.
