Where Do I Find Other Types Of Information In Tesla?

Navigating OEM websites can be challenging when searching for collision repair procedures, especially as no two OEM websites are alike. What happens when you need to find other types of repair information, such as, "What needs to be inspected after a supplemental restraints system (SRS) deployment?", or "Does the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) require a scan tool or specialty tool?" Let's take a closer look at the Tesla website.

Tesla offers Collision Repair Procedures for free but requires a subscription for service information. Go to the Tesla website at service.tesla.com. If you haven’t already, you will need to register for a username and password and then purchase a subscription.

Upon logging in, you can select a model from the top of the screen, or you can click on a vehicle image in the middle of the page. This brings you to a page that has three sections of information:

Service Information

• The service manual is where you can find information, such as high-voltage battery disable procedures, as well as other types of battery information. You can also find information and procedures for drivetrain, and wheels and tires. In addition, there is a search function at the top of the service manual next to the menu tab.
• There is a link under service information for Bulletins and Forms. This link takes you to a page where you can search for technical bulletins for all Tesla models.
• Parts Manual (EPC) is where vehicle-specific parts are found for ordering. Tesla will denote if the part is restricted or over-the-counter.
• The Application Form For Parts Ordering is available within the parts catalog.
• Required tool lists for repairing Tesla vehicles are found under Tesla Tooling.

Owner Manuals

• The owner’s manual, warranty, and Charging Product Manuals are found under the owner manuals category. The owner’s manual tells you information about the vehicle, as well as what features each model has and how to operate them.
• The Warranty link takes you to information about Tesla’s new and used vehicle warranty, parts warranty, paint warranty, etc. The Charging Product Manual provides information about the charging components for each vehicle.

Collision Repair Procedures

• Collision Repair Procedures is where vehicle-specific body repair manuals are found. Structural part replacement, repair guidelines, vehicle construction materials, and approved tools, equipment, and materials.
• Tesla will also disclose warnings and special notes to aid in the repair process.

Knowing where and how to find repair procedures is key to ensuring a complete, safe, and quality repair.
