Where Do I Find Other Types Of Information In Volkswagen?

Navigating OEM websites can be challenging when searching for collision repair procedures, especially as no two OEM websites are alike. What happens when you need to find other types of repair information, such as, "What needs to be inspected after a supplemental restraints system (SRS) deployment?", or "Does the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) require a scan tool or specialty tool?" Let's take a closer look at the Volkswagen website.

Go to the Volkswagen website at erwin.vw.com. If you haven’t already, you will need to register for a username and password and then purchase a subscription.

After entering the year/make/model in the Search Menu, to find the body repair manual you would select Repair Manual in Category 1 and then Body in Category 2. However, when looking for other types of information, Volkswagen has additional manuals available. For example, if you are looking for how to remove and replace the steering column, you would select Chassis under Category 2 (see Figure 1). This search would produce several manuals, including Suspension, Wheels, Steering. If you are unsure of the category in which the repair information may be in, you can leave Category 2 empty. The search result will produce the numerous service manuals that are available.
