DISABLE PROCEDURE AND TIME (Always Check Service Manual)
The battery ground cable must be disconnected whenever working on the airbag system. No waiting time is necessary after disconnecting battery. When connecting the airbag system to a voltage source, there must be no person present inside the vehicle.REV: 03/2016
PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING A DEPLOYMENT
Always replace the following components after an accident when airbag has deployed:• All deployed airbag units [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL; AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL; AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
• Support for passenger module where passenger airbag deployed.
• Return ring with slip ring, if driver side airbag deployed [CLOCK SPRING]
• All Seat belts with deployed seat belt tensioners
PARTS THAT MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED IF DAMAGED
Test the system with a suitable vehicle tester.Passenger Occupant Detection System:
• Each time passenger airbag and/or belt pretensioner on passenger side is deployed, Seat Occupied Recognition Control Module -J706• basic setting must be performed.
• If the seat rails and/or the seat pan must be replaced after a accident due to deformation, the seat occupied recognition must also be replaced with seat occupied recognition repair kit.
• Seat belt system
• If a passenger airbag is replaced, check if an additional ground cable must be routed in the vehicle, it is necessary in some cases.
• If needed (visual inspection), the following must also be replaced: all faulty SRS components
